The Property Company AB Sunnan is composed of two buildings that were introduced in the autumn of 2004 with architects Bengt Lundsten SAFA and Michael Granit SAR in charge of the construction. The primary building includes the public venues as well as the art galleries. The other building is comprised of laboratories and workshops. The hotel, consisting of 16 double rooms and one service house (including two saunas, showers, toilets, a laundry room, and a socializing room), was finished in the spring of 2009. The service house is primarily utilized by harbour guests but is also generally open for any guests of the Archipelago centre. The architect in charge of constructing the hotel was the Architectural bureau SIGGE. The aforementioned buildings were chiefly built using wood materials, heated by thermal-heating. All buildings in the area are owned by the Property Company AB Sunnan, which in turn is owned by the Åbo Akademi endowment, Forststyrelsen, and the Väståboland state.
